Why a Sermon on Safeguarding?
This week’s Weakly episode is titled "Why a sermon on safeguarding?" Because that's the question I imagine some of you walked in with on Sunday. The sermon itself was "Safeguarding the Flock of God”, from Mark 9:42–50, with Ezekiel 34 and Acts 20 alongside it. And this stand-alone sermon interrupted our series through 1 Timothy for a reason.
Introducing: Weakly Preaching
We who are weak, preach Christ who is strong (a pastoral theology of preaching from 1st and 2nd Corinthians).
In this introductory episode, we see what was missed from yesterday’s sermon on ‘Healthy Leadership Matters’, from 1 Timothy 5:17-25.
We start to think about how self-reflection is the art of learning, particularly for preaching.
And we keep in mind and heart the words of the preacher from Ecclesiastes 12:12 ~ “the making of many podcasts there is no end…”
